SUMMARY:Year of the Snake Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the Year of the Snake with students from the Chinese American International School presenting classical music and dance from Chinese ethnic minorities to kick off the Lunar New Year. The program ends\, as tradition states\, with a playful student-arranged version of the lion dance which is believed to scare away evil spirits and ensure a bright beginning to the year. After the performance\, enjoy Oliver Chin's presentation about Chinese zodiac animals and their characteristics\, and discover something new about yourself. Chin has written more than a dozen books including the series\, Tales from the Chinese Zodiac.
