Performance: From Meaning, Movement; From Movement, Image

Join the members of the Chinese American International School's acclaimed Music and Movement program as they explore elements of dance, sound, and spoken word in relationship to calligraphy. In a performance created expressly for the exhibition Out of Character: Decoding Chinese Calligraphy, modern dancer Peiling Kao, Chinese musician Gangqin Zhao, and performance artist Susan Kennedy collaborate with multigenerational members of the school community in an event that intertwines new dance and music with classical Chinese poetry and calligraphic imagery.
