Filipino-American History Celebration
Celebrate 425 years of Filipino American history and culture at the Asian Art Museum's annual festival featuring art, dance, displays, music, and stories. This year features a "Best of PCN" (Pilipino Culture Night) performance from the Pilipino Student Associations at the University of California, Berkeley; San Francisco State University; University of San Francisco; and California State University, East Bay. Begin the day by calling the spirits with music and dance, then watch Baybayin artist Christine Balza demonstrate her contemporary takes on this ancient Filipino script and make art inspired by the language. You can also join docent and storytelling tours through the Southeast Asian galleries and, of course, cheer on your favorite student group at the first-ever Asian Art Museum PCN Showcase.
