Explore the museum for free during this annual program held during the Asian Heritage Street Celebration (AHSC) outside the museum.

South East Asian Cultural Exhibits  10:30 am–4:00 pm, Loggia

View displays of musical instruments and more from different South East Asian countries.

AHSC School Awards Ceremony  
11:00 am–12:00 noon, Samsung Hall

Local administrators, teachers, and Bay Area schools will be honored for their commitment to promoting cross-cultural diversity. Organized by The AsianWeek Foundation and sponsored by Target.

Art Activity: Celebrate the Golden Gate Bridge 75th Anniversary  11:00 am–4:00 pm, North Court

Make a wood block print or a watercolor painting.

Art Activity: Chalk Drawing  11:00 am–4:00 pm, Front steps 

Join three local artists, Zina Alshukri, Gopika Sitwala and Imin Yeh, in chalk drawing to commemorate the Asian community in San Francisco.

Animal Tours  11:00 am and 1:00 pm (30 minutes each), Meet at the Information Desk

Stories! The Wicked, the Wily, the Wise  12:00 noon (30 minute pre-k tour) and 2:00 pm (45 minute all ages tour), Meet at the Information Desk.

The museum's storytellers bring the galleries to life telling tales from Asia's most beloved myths and folktales.

South East Asian Cultural Showcase  12:30 pm–1:30 pm, Samsung Hall

Demonstrations and performances highlight the South East Asian community including: Vietnamese, Lao, Thai, and Cambodian

AHSC Cinema Showcase  2:00 pm–4:00 pm, Samsung Hall

Collection of short films and music videos reveal the vibrant Asian American media arts scene in the Bay Area. Presented by the Center for Asian American Media.

Bay Area Flashmob Performance 

Enjoy a surprise performance by Bay Area Flashmob.
