We talked to storyteller Fred and docent Bob about their experience volunteering at the Asian Art Museum. Check out the interview with one of our favorite couples, and join us this weekend for Pride!

Dear retirees, what a glorious video. I’m so glad Katherine shared it. Bob, you are still such a professor and Fred, we think you look just fine. I’m so happy you are finding such satisfaction in your work at the museum. We must come again. Maybe you can put us it a children’s group! We also must get together – I don’t think we’ve seen you since our wedding 4 years ago. Also have some news about restaurants you probably visit. We’re home all summer. We’ll call and see what plan we can make. Life is too short to let so much time go by. xoxo Peaches

What a great way to highlight Asian Art Museum programs, which are fantastic, and the rewards of volunteerism too. Bob and Fred introduced me to the museum, and as I travel I find myself drawing upon what I have learned from them. Last December, I visited the Islamic art museum in Doha, where spectacular contemporary architecture houses an amazing collection. As I browsed, I realized that I would know little about what I was seeing if it weren’t for Docent Bob. (Warning: Bob is a strict taskmaster, and there is likely to be a quiz at the end of a tour – even for friends like me who have known Bob since the eighth grade!)

Thanks Daryl, we’re so glad you liked the video. It sounds like those pop tests really paid off for you!
