Breathing Flower comes to life in Civic Center Plaza
The lotus breathes! This afternoon, Choi Jeong Hwa’s kinetic sculpture, Breathing Flower, was inflated opposite the museum in Civic Center Plaza. Check out the images and video below, and join us this weekend for a Day of Dialogue with artists and a sneak peek at site-specific installations.

This outdoor piece is fantastic. I brought my friend from Canada to visit. Thank you for sharing how it was installed. I began to like modern art a bit more!

I was being driven through the city by my host and he drove past the civic center. I was amazed to come across this living breathing entity. I came back to India and haven’t stopped talking about it.
