There are no guilty pleasures
I got into Project Runway when I caught the mother of all colds last year. Cable television, in its infinite wisdom, was catching up late-to-the-gamers with an entire season’s worth of shows in a single day and me, being soft in the head, fell hard. While I don’t stay home to watch it nowadays, I still like to keep an eye on the action, especially given that SF-based Jay Nicholas Sario is in the running this season.
Why am I writing about this on our blog? Because Sario’s ten fashion week looks were based on last Summer’s Lords of the Samurai exhibition. Since this combines both work and pleasure, I’m calling for an emergency meeting at my house Thursday night. Who’s with me?

I HAD NO IDEA!!!
How about a follow up post with photos of his designs inspired by our samurai?

boo, he got booted (they found a way to make it an SF vs. LA thing!).
may check back on the PR site to see if any of the looks are up–seriously impeccable tailoring, I’d love to wear his stuff but doubt I could afford it.

Since this seems to be the place for public confessions, I “confess” that I’ve also watched Project Runway and I didn’t even have the excuse of a cold. There’s a hilarious site called “Project Rungay” which is run by two gay guys who mock (but with love). I think that Hedi would make a good samurai, don’t you? She pronounces the weekly “You’re OUT!” with such Teutonic fervor that a sword would only add to the effect. Of course, I think that the show is pushing harder and hard to find a “new” hook and some of the designs show it. But it’s an easy show to get hooked by when you are channeling your inner Chanel.

Too bad he got booted. Good to know a fellow countryman is getting his name out there.

Nancy, thanks so much for that link–reminds me of how much fun I had once I found regretsy. And jeez…it made it even worse because they show him with his family in SF and they remind me of all my friends’ mamas and aunties.

Now you’ll want to get this for your Wii. (Note: you’ll first have to get a Wii.)

Disclaimer: I only know about the Project Runway video game because its website was designed by (ahem) my daughter.
